I’m dressed in layers so many,
My bag nearly empty of any,
More clothing to wear,
Wish weather were fair,
Warm sun in my thoughts for a penny!
It’s hard to say it’s fun when one’s cold.
When fingers get stiff and they don’t fold.
That time on my bike,
Is not what I like.
Yet, after I thaw-out, I’m still sold.
Looking out and watching as it rains,
Watching water swirl down outside drains.
Pointless to grumble,
Even to mumble.
Weather is described for pains or gains.
Starting out feeling NOT very brave,
Never the start point that I would crave.
One-mile-at-a-time,
On downhill or climb.
To notice the progress each mile gave.
Listening to folks who are very smart,
Who make their life choices from the heart.
The thoughts that they share,
Reveal that they care,
Considering impact from the start.
A gift that can come with vacation,
Is feeling a heightened sensation,
Of what is around.
The beauty that’s found
In gently observing creation.
My birthday had much celebration.
Connections of all variation.
They fill up my heart,
And give me the start,
For my year of great jubilation!
For me, that question feels hard to answer.
Is that true for you as well?
This week I’ve watched & listened to
Daily interviews about “Radically Reframing Aging.”
at covers your need.
When really your deed
Is getting some help with your brave ask.
Melt-water is running and I’m thrilled!
I’m naming this movement as “hope-filled”.
Winter end in sight,
With more hours of light.
But cold yet to come is still strong-willed.
When missing some color that brings zest,
Figure out some splash for a home test.
Dazzling your eyes.
A color surprise ,
Color-filled recovery of your “best”.
This task is too big; it has laid bare,
Resistance and doubt,– do I now dare
To see the job through?
Stretch what I can do?
Remember, “Keep at it. You’ll get there”.
