Where Have Different Circumstances Expanded Your View?

Another speaking opportunity this week,
Reminding me that there is always more to learn.

I “got” the parallel, that
Like bike trips, there are predictable parts,
Bicycles, miles pedaled, hills, weather.
All are part of any bike journey, and
No bike trip is totally like any other.

Same with speaking gigs,
A parallel that I hadn’t realized.

There are folks gathered to listen,
My stories, me, a microphone (for me always a microphone).
The opportunity unique is the audience.

Rosemount audience was three
Very attentive, engaged individuals.
Each was a generous listener.

It can be intense to have a speaker
Focusing on one of three sets of eyes—
Yours! for duration of a talk.

What I learned in this situation?

Come in with “beginner eyes”.
Remember that variation
Can be Fun, Energizing, and Just Right.

Limerick:
Next time is new possibility.
Enter with your flexibility.
Who knows what you’ll find,
When you stretch your mind.
More fun & more credibility?

Hugs,
Lin
