Where Is Your “Cheering Squad?”

Hello My Friend,

I had a dream I remembered!
Seldom happens.
Usually disappear in jumble,
Shapes, people, bizarre circumstances.
This hung around.

On a carousel, I’m riding beautiful horse,
Pristine condition, festooned with fresh paint.
Colorful swirls, elaborate design, tipped with gold.

My ride begins with blaring music.
Lights, bright and changing,
Surround we riders.
Color, sound, bizarrely festive.

Round we go,
Never catching the horse in front,
Up and down midst carousel-energy.

Round and round is fun —
For a while.

I start noticing people watching,
Expectantly waiting for particular rider.
They cheer when rider comes by.

I watch the bystanders,
And come to group
That cheers for ME.

Next round, they holler again.
They are my cheering squad!

Can’t wait to come round again
To make that connection.

In excitement of painted horses,
Loud carousel music,
Color and movement,
It is my cheering supporters I seek.

Cheering as I come into view,
Excited over my having made
Another carousel “lap”.

That enthusiasm,
Support for my “ride”,
(whatever that “ride” is)
It REAL highlight of my carousel journey.

Who knew?
Who knew a carousel dream,
Would remind me that
Supportive connections are what
Keep me on any journey.

Bikes, painted horses,
Some new ventures,
We are enriched by our “cheering squad”.

Hugs to you,
Lin
