Do you see my bike? It's as happy as I am to be riding.
Bike buddies rode 50 miles, I rode 11.
Columbus to Mt. Vernon, Ohio.
It's hard to realize that eleven miles
Was my smart maximum ride today.
I hope you'll see that I was
Very glad to be on my bike.
It was Fun.
Truth be told, I was nervous
To get on and ride.
My balance was right there.
Hooray. I was okay.
Today I rode in the van with Ken.
Plan was to get to a trail head,
Park, and ride 22 miles
From there to Mount Vernon.
That place was under construction
And a sea of mud.
We drove to Mount Vernon motel.
Turns out that was a much better plan.
I rode on the trail from motel parking lot.
Then I could make a U-turn back
To our base, our lodging place,
When I needed to.
It let me make ride-length decision
Out of how I was feeling.
The hardest part of riding
Was getting on the bicycle.
Even with bike tipped over toward me
I had a hard time getting my right leg across.
There is still swelling around my knee,
And stiff muscles.

Clockwise from upper left: My bike today on Ohio Erie Bike Trail. Sign shows we've come 178 miles from Cincinnati. Nancy and her cool bike. Well-signed trail; I like that.
I continue to receive caring help,
And am learning to accept it.
Now when a help offer is extended
Instead of an automatic
"No thanks, I've got this."
I realize that help is exactly what I need
And say "Yes, please.”
That offer...
A gift being given.
May you accept offered help
And see it as the gift it is.
Hugs,
Lin

Hurrah! Eleven miles is tremendous! I continue to send good wishes and thoughts of encouragement, Lin
Each new day I follow where you landed the night before. I enjoy using maps.
