Wind and Life

Is it as your back? Or are you facing a headwind?

Hello My Friend,

For me,
Bicycle = Workout Membership + Mental Health Therapist.

Hooray for days of bike weather.

Hooray for miles covered,
For satisfaction of working hard
Into the wind.
Getting to the turn-around point
Where wind-at-my back
Eases my ride home.

I was thinking about wind—
It's usually there.

We notice when we are headed
Into its resistance.
Head down, pushing into wind
To gain the next mile.

Wind-at-the-back?
Often don't even take note of its assist.

Sort of like life.
When conditions are difficult,
Challenging relationships, poor health, money woes,
Restrictions.
Those can feel like we are bucking
Strong winds that beat us back.

When things go well,
Maybe that's life's wind-at-our-back.
Sometime we don't even notice
All pieces moving us smoothly.

Wind-in-the-face.
Wind-at-our-back.
‘Tis a balance.

Of course, I wish you
A tail wind to move you with ease.

I especially wish you perseverance & strength
For miles when you are bucking life's wind,
And satisfaction with covering each mile,
One-mile-at-a-time.

Sending hugs,
Lin
