Shaking it up

Livening Your COVID Life

Wednesday, November 18, 2020

My Dear Friend,

How have you "livened" up your COVID life this week?

Let me think of that question for myself ...
Stationary bike riding let me finish very good book.

Dragging out my ancient sewing machine,
Tending to long put-off repairs,
(I'm talking YEARS)
Reminded me …
I like to mend.
Weird! And I do—
For short periods.

Long distance phone call with
Biker friend—serious, long-distance rider,
Reminded me that
Seasons can support variety.
Her "art" is center stage for winter.

Reader whose year-round bike is passion,
Loves winter riding.
Careful, creative, colorful layering
For cold weather comfort & safety,
Delights her.

Isn't it great that we can
Choose our activity to suit our
Interests and abilities!

Once I "see" past the restrictions,
Travel and people,
I have possibility of coming up with
Approach that livens up and stretches options.

I'll remember to wear my mask,
Wash my hands,
Keep my distance.

Shaking things up a bit,
Can make these months
A time for "beginner eyes.”

Who knows what will show up
In a new light!

Something very familiar?
Some variation on a theme?
Some totally different discovery?

Stay tuned.
That's what I plan to do.

Big hugs,
and strong wishes for your good health.

Lin

Thanks, Naurine! They definitely aid with being seen, and spice up my biking wardrobe! 🙂

I love to mend, too – it’s so satisfying to renew a mostly useful item.
