New Goal, New Plan

1000 more miles by Oct. 15

Wednesday, August 14, 2019

Hello Friends,

Wow, summer is rolling along!
Morning light later now.
Still have hours and weather for biking.
How is your next adventure unfolding?

As for me—I'm back to riding
After Dallas conference.
I have given thought and
Commitment to my next mileage goal.

Another thousand miles by October 15.
That can happen.

What is adventure plan?
Ta Da! (drummmmmm roll)

Bicycling WY -> MN,
West to East, maybe with wind at my back.

Twice I've ridden other way MN ->WY for H.S. reunions.

This ride has no particular "reason,”
But two particular points:
1) I can & want to,
2) Bob has offered to be my Support And Gear person, SAG.

Providing support and assistance.
Huge gift!
We are both healthy,
Now is the time for this.

Bob is enthused about this adventure,
Seeing WY relatives, taking road trip,
Doing some biking too.

Is finding win-win choices hard for you?
This solution perfect for us.
Bob likes long road trips in car,
I don't.

Now considering routes,
Thinking food options,
Riding to be fit enough,
Fun!

I wanted a longer mileage trip.
This gives me that.
Planning on riding "smart"
With attention to stamina.

My current plan is to ride
Five hundred miles of the 750 mile trip.

Each day's conditions,
Me, roads, weather,
Will make final distance tally.

I'm excited!
Stay tuned.

Big hugs to each of you,
Lin

Limerick:

My mind roves when I am out riding,
I'm getting quite close to deciding,
The route we will take,
The plans we need make,
To keep our long journey inviting.

Proud of you!! Sounds like a great plan. “Because I can and want to” is the perfect reason. I said almost the same thing the other day when someone asked me why I walk. 😁👍❤️ And planning is half the fun. I was pleased that all my planning for the Cambodia/VietNam trip resulted in a full, fun, challenging adventure. Best wishes!!

Right on! Happy to share the “adventure” bug with you–and you’re right, “Because I can and want to” IS the perfect reason! May we all recognize and embrace it!

You are inspiring Lin. Safe travels!

Thank you, Rhonda! I feel ordinary—though I know the miles I’ve covered have added up. I believe so strongly that with commitment, asking for help, sticking with it, finding humor in the hard stuff, and recommitment, so very much is possible for any of us. If I inspire you to believe in yourself and what’s possible for you, I am delighted!
