Libby Muir Memorial

No Biking Day–Special Event

Saturday, August 4, 2018

Hello Friends,

Today was wonderful!
Important gathering honoring memory of our friend Libby Muir.
You will remember that Bob and I crafted some bicycle trips
Around opportunity to visit Libby Muir at her assisted living apartment
In Grand Rapids, MN.

This bike trip scheduling has had
"Muir Children Honoring Their Mom"
As THE absolute given Aug 4th place to be.

For years, Muir family “not-in-Northfield” life
Revolved around their spare, minimalist cabin
In Northern MN, six hours from Northfield.

Nearly every weekend they drove to
THE CABIN, worked very hard, soaked up
Lake, quiet, trees, nature.

Today's event was held there.
Last time Bob and I had been there was 47 yrs ago.
Some upgrades are now in place.

Time today centered around the four "kids" (adults)
Sharing memories of their Mom,
Son Bill and music colleague, Heidi playing their French horns,
Eating good food and sharing Libby stories,
Being happy to be together.

Extended family came,
Long time friends.
We spanned generations and cherished
How each of us was touched by Libby's life.

At each of Bob's and my last visits with Libby,
She would tells us lucky she was.
Libby genuinely appreciated people's efforts
To make her life work.

Her kids said today,
"Mom always said how lucky she was.”

May I follow Libby's model;
Being grateful for things going my way,
For efforts made on my behalf.

Today held precious connections
Of we folks richer because we shared friendship with Libby.

Thank you, my friends, for being in my life.

She certainly was, Susan. A brilliant friend, very unassuming, very capable. Thanks for reading me “note” at wake-up hour!
