Handling Cyber Security

Wednesday, February 15th, 2023

With your heart open and generous,
Beware of hackers most venomous.
Connect with a call.
Before we befall
Their wiles; which turn out to be virtue-less.

I got HACKED this week.

You may have been one of people
Who received the SCAM email.
“Checking in.  Do you use Amazon?
Will you help me purchase gift?”
That false message went to all of my contact list.

This felt Horrible!
The violation of my property,
Burglarizing my computer contents,
Makes me feel victimized.
Even worse—
People have been hurt or inconvenienced.
That feels Terrible.

I didn’t realize how much I’ve come to
Rely on this technology.
With trust—I enter this, I send that.
Landmarks for me,
Even though I have so little techno skill.

Thanks to all of you for whatever action you took …
Calling or texting me to alert me to Scam.
Generously making purchase
To help me out with a gift for my niece.
Deleting email.

I am SO Sorry this dishonest falseness
Landed in your inbox.
My hope is that each credit card company
Has acknowledged the fraud,
That you have not lost money.

Mentally sorting and resorting the last ten days,
I think I recall my action that let the Scammer in.
Arghh!  Careless, and unthinking.

I’ve been advised—
“Don’t Should Yourself.”
It is taking me some time to really take that in.
I’m working on it.

Hugs,
Lin

My mama could do this, so glad I still can put my hands on the floor 😊

My aunt could put her hands on the floor like that. I could never even touch my toes. 🤣🤣

Lin,

I’m glad you got on top of this scam-what a terrible thing for you to deal with, but you managed! I knew you would want to get right on it so didn’t want to slow you down by visiting. I so enjoy your openness and positive messages.

Fondly,

Shari

It is so easy to be scammed. I did not get a request-to-purchase from you but I got one from another email correspondent last week. I’m glad some folks let you know so you could alert others.

Lin, This happens to most of us at one point it another. Hackers search for systems & people with technological weaknesses. You have so much integrity and Light in yourself, cut yourself the kind of slack you would cut one of us if it happened to us. Your posts are truly an inspiration!!!

So sorry that this is happened to you the fraud the scam. It’s so frustrating I get caught on the top couple times a year. Usually they don’t end up with money. They just waste a couple of days of my life. You are a wonderful person and I know you have no intention of hurting anyone remember that thanks for sending this out to all of us.

Scammers are becoming increasingly skilled at what they do. We will be having a presentation on scammers at the Senior Wellness Fair in Blaine, at which you will be speaking.

Most of us have been fooled by a fraud scheme. There is no shame.

As I used to tell my children. It’s ok that you spilled milk as long as you take the time to clean it up.

Good to know about the planned presentation! Love what you told your children!
