Choosing the Easy Way

Cazenovia to Auburn, NY: Zero miles by all.

Day 17 Empire State Trail Ride

Wednesday, August 18, 2021

Sometimes “the easy way” is NOT a cop-out!

Forecast of heavy rain,
Route with extremely steep hills—
Struggle up, rollercoaster down.
Decision was to shuttle all directly to Auburn.

Beautiful views from rain-blurred van windows,
Experiencing hills as BIG, even in vehicle.
Our transport suited me!

Restaurant before arriving at
"Inn at the Finger Lakes.”
We are tucked in.
Of course, options to walk to any sight.
Not appealing to me in heavy rain.

Late morning departure from Cazenovia,
One more walk on Albany Street.
Visit to excellent Art Cooperative.
Purchase of yummy molasses cookie.

Hope and I are roommates.
We've done the usual—
Opened suitcases, which seem to
Explode over the beds.

I'm feeling better and better.
This enforced day-off bikes,
To my benefit.

Today “the easy way” was perfect.
If you need permission for same,
I give it!

Hugs,
Lin

Limerick:

We look out and see that it's raining.
We get in the van; no complaining.
The route of our ride,
We view from inside.
To Auburn without any straining.

Lovely orchid welcoming us at motel

Usual suitcase explosion in motel

Great giraffe "affirmation" display in shopwindow in Cazenovia

Your limericks are such a treat. Today I thought there would not be one…. but even today you made a clever poem!
