Wonderful Life

Auburn to Canandaigua: 45 miles

Day 18 Empire State Trail Ride

Thursday, August 19, 2021

Even with hi-tech weather info,
You really don't know, until you live the day.

Susan & I walked to breakfast clad in
Raincoat & rain pants.
Nancy found report for
Better weather mid-morning.
Start time switched to 9:30.

First direction on sheet, 8.8 miles
Genesee Street.
I started alone, since Nancy's bike needed change tire.
Several miles, same highway / street,

no side-turns,
I can manage that.

About half way, Hope backtracked, met me.
Nancy caught up in Seneca Falls &

I followed her.

Pause & picture taking in Seneca Falls,
Location of
bridge used in movie,

"It's a Wonderful Life."
(Now Jimmy S. and I share that bridge!)
Also, National Women's Hall of Fame.

Short rain shower caught us in
Seneca Lake Park.
Nancy & I took time to snack & stay dry.

Very moderate terrain today.
Not flat, and not hilly,
Good gentle combo.

Thinking through my day,
I'm reminded that, for me there is no
Single descriptor of the day.

Anxious, calm, impatient, gliding,
Satisfying, wearing, happy, discouraged.
All can go into single 24 hrs.

It's encouraging when
Composite is weighted to the upbeat.

Hugs,
Lin

Limerick:

It might be your day starts quite harried,
You wish you had rushed, but you tarried.
What comes with your day,
Your work and your play,
Can give you a life that is varied.

Great photos – such amazing sights along the way. “It’s a Wonderful Life” is an annual watching event for me – how cool to see the bridge!

What a wonderful adventure. Love to you, Lin. Strong legs, strong lungs, great balance and fine friends to ride with!

The photos show that you had a day filled with various sites. I enjoy following you on the ride, Lin. May you remain encouraged. By the way, I especially like the limerick for today.
