Choose Your Route

Batavia to Lockport, 51 miles

Day 20 Empire State Trail Ride

Saturday, August 21, 2021

Do you prefer crowded rush, or slower pace?

We rode about 20 miles of GOOD trail.
Very nice.
I like being on lengths of trail;
Knowing those miles are my clear route.

Pre-trail, bridge out on route.
Six riders dealt with getting across.
Creative and strong-armed!

Nancy & I, farther back.
When phone call about "ravine" came,
Nancy found we two an alternative way.
That's another nice perk of riding with Nancy.

At end of "Clarence Pathway" trail,
Our one mile along NY-78.
Seemed like ten miles! ! !

That mile, East Amherst to Swormville, (true name)
Busy, noisy, fast, crowded,
Felt frantic.

And then we turned.
Moved over a block. Sigh.
Prompted my thinking about
Fast track & quieter paths
..

All well.
We have rest day tomorrow,
Here in Lockport, N.Y.

Hugs,
Lin

Limerick:

When movement is fast & you're reeling,
Rush, crowd and noise rattle feeling.
Shift your route a block.
Take time to take stock.
Is that slower pace more appealing?

LOVE seeing you in the cabbage patch! What a beautiful crop!! Have never seen a whole field of cabbage. YOU looking good out there, glad you were able to carry on after feeling “not so good”!

Hope the weather stays good for you. Thinking of you, every day!! And sending hugs!
