5 Keys Surprising Power

Wednesday, January 30, 2019

Hello Friends,

As I write, MN in midst of record-setting
Freezing winter temps.
How unreal a life with bicycling seems right now!

Trying to use my own Five Keys:,
Commit, Ask for Help, Find Humor, Connect with Others, Recommit...

"NOT just for my audiences,” I remind myself.

I need to be "shoved" to keep moving.
Yes, moving to stay active,
And moving to stay engaged in my life.
To "stretch for ways to give life to my days.”

Here's how Keys have been serving me recently:

Commit:
On cusp of signing with mentor helping to grow speaking business.

Ask for Help: … long list here.
Lindy for speech fine-tuning, web managing, creative thinking.
Grace, high school student from church, helping me figure out how to use recording device.
Scott, finding right recorder for me to purchase.
eWomen Network organization for professional suggestions.
People in my life willing to stop & join me in task.
Office folks cheerfully finding info to help in completing our taxes.

Finding Humor:
Wrote new song using Toastmaster references as subject.
It makes me laugh! That's the point.

Connect with Others:
Long, long-time friends who gather for coffee and visit.
Church “book club” time with small-group personal sharing.
Exercise class members who groan with me during minute-long planks.

Recommit:
Stationary bike miles to prepare for the real joy, biking outside.
Learning more about the "how" of getting to speak.

Always surprises me to notice these 5 Keys
Fit what I need to do to live my life well.
Each time I notice, it reinforces
How powerful they are and
How much they improve my life.

May they help you in turn.

Hugs to each of you,
Lin

P.S. Inviting you to come to my upcoming talks February 2, 10:30am and February 11, noon, both in Burnsville, MN. Click for details Would love to see you!

Limerick:

Our weather is far beyond "cold wave,”
Requires cautious choices that life save.
Temps freeze to the bone,
Turn noses to stone.
Makes gazing out windows your new "fave.”
