Our rides are a fine celebration,
Of marriage as Life Education.
We’ve learned through the years,
With laughter and tears.
Arriving to this Affirmation

Back from wonderful bike trip ….
Doing what I call, “Loop Rides”.
Three trail portions from one lodging spot.

On portions of three days,
We rode three sections of “Lake Wobegon Trail”.
West, East, and North, all from Albany, MN.

There is an ease in being able to
Return to things unneeded for that day’s ride,
Heavier coat, picnic kit, pajamas, evening reading material.

Outing was celebrating our 63rd wedding anniversary.
As I’ve said before,
“Fast years with some slow days”.

Feeling truly blessed that biking together,
Having health, options, shared interest,
Makes a bike trip our possible celebration.

We did start this outing with
Tickets for dinner theater destination.
At “half-time”, I asked that we leave.
Remaining part of special plan, our biking,
Suited me much better.

(How great to get old enough/ brave enough
To shift a special plan!)
I think I am growing up.😉

Hugs,
Lin

Trailhead sign… Lake Wobegon Trail.
Covered bridge on trail, excellent condition.
Season for brilliant berries along trail.
Sauk City plaque for Sinclair Lewis, in his hometown.
Perfect mural message, “Reading is Dreaming with Open Eyes”. Retired librarian Bob, agrees!
Not my size! Can’t imagine being able to balance on this. Fun sculpture thought!
Sculpture of golfer alongside bike trail.
Impressive church, Albany MN along trail.
  1. The picture of the single huge wheel bike reminds me of your Grandma McLaughlin’s pictures of her brother John’s bike he rode during the family’s six years adventures i California, Oregon and trip back to Nebraska by covered wagon. John ride his bike!! Thanks!! Bill

  2. Wow! 63 years!! Congratulations on that AND that you can both ride bikes to celebrate! That is awesome and so encouraging!! Keep it up!

  3. WHAT A wonderful way to celebrate. CONGRATULATIONS on making the next step in growing up. It sure takes a long time. Good to appreciate the journey.
