Weather Can Shape a Day

A positive thing when it’s snowing
Is seeing that wind is not blowing.
If wind’s in the mix,
That is a bad fix!
‘Cause then you can’t see where you’re going.

We think we have “all-the-answers”.
And then weather wallops our scene.
It’s clear that Mother Nature is in charge.

Currently, she is showing up at my place with
Snow, snow, snow.
For me, the real challenge with this—
Ice underfoot.
I’m very careful moving out-and-about;
As though I’m an octogenarian
Concerned about falling.
Appropriate, I’ll say.

I think of past bike trips
Where a day’s weather
Defined the ride day.

Texas headwinds blasting
Grit/dirt-filled air into cyclists & their bikes.
Kentucky torrential rain,
Obscuring vision, filling shoes, inner-fibers of raingear.
Lightening storms curtailing the day’s ride.

Now those are part of trip memories.
At that moment —
They limited, or made, that day.
Depends on the “naming”.

I’m walking my interior hallways,
Warm, flat, ice-free.
Oohing-&-Ahhing white outside landscape.

Hugs,
Lin

Village in the snow.
More snow!
Beautiful, brilliant snow “frosting”.
