To Plan Or Not To Plan

My Hoped-For 2020 Bike Adventure

Tuesday, March 31, 2020

Hello Friends,

How are you in this extraordinary time?
Dealing with quarantine, new isolation,
Can be draining on many levels.

The question of planning ahead comes up.
I find it best supports my mental outlook,
To plan ahead and proceed “as if.”

My 2020 Big Bike Ride Plan:
Join a bike group to ride
Portland, ME ->
Virginia Beach (or is it Newport News?), VA.
Sept 18 ---Oct 20, 2020.

This is about half way down East Coast of U.S.A.
East Coast is 4th "side" of U.S.
The one I've not yet ridden.
I've wanted to ride this piece of U.S. perimeter.
Now is the time to tackle that dream.

Then in 2021, I'll join company again
To ride VA -> FL section.

Right now, any bike trip is
"Maybe can happen.”

I'm starting to train to be ready.

I'm excited!
I'll let you know
Whatever I learn
About this trip.
Lucky me, preparing for another bike adventure!

How about you?
How are you feeding your soul?
Stretching to find ways
To give life to your days?

I’d love to hear from you,
I read every reply and comment.

Hugs to each of you,
Lin

Limerick:

We hear constant news of the Virus.
Bombardment with gloom that can tire us.
Far better to do
That fun thing for you.
You never know how you'll inspire us!

What? Our trail underwater after recent rain. On the scale of things, nothing to complain about!!!

Our nearby Cannon River very high, and dear Bob walking with no aids! 🙂

Pedal power, wind power =      Ride like the wind!

Today's ride home, wind at my back!

  1. Even when I’m walking, wind at my back is a blessing. I am so glad you have a new biking goal. I had to postpone April, May, and June trips this year. One replanned for April 2021. The June one won’t happen til 2022 and not sure what my endurance will be then. Seems far away. Still hopeful for European river cruise in September, need to plan something for November/December I think. But it is hard to decide.
Thank you for your posts. Glad Bob is doing well!!
    Naurine

  2. I have a dream that I haven’t acted on yet-to go to a retreat in a new location without knowing anyone else. Check with me later to see if I found the courage of “I think I can” to register.

Grateful for your notes. Really like the limericks.

    Marian
