Time Out, New View

Utica to Cazenovia, NY: 0 of 50 miles

Day 15 Empire State Trail Ride

Monday, August 16, 2021

“Down” days can give new view.

Today I chose to remain off my bike.
I know that riding in the van gives
Totally different view of pedaled route.

Today's first destination for van,
To place on route—
Roadside spot where John & Jim
Were changing flat rear tire on e-bike.

That is a REAL challenge on e-bikes!
Since, John & Jim had made a start
And with Ken added to cast,
It was done in about half hour.

Lunch set up at
Boxing Hall of Fame,

Located in midst of two interstate highways.

Good location, spots of shade,
Several benches,
Bathrooms inside the souvenir part of place,
Dumpster available.
(Many elements to a good location!)

Van stopped at Chittenango Falls,
To view the 168 ft water drop.
Lovely waterfall midst park.

Here we are in Cazenovia, N.Y.
Housed in charming Lincklaen House.
Hotel built in 1835.
Looks like tomorrow will be great
"Wander the attractive town" rest day.

I am feeling better—
Very glad I’ll have another day off bike.
Rest Day timely for me.

Hugs,
Lin

Limerick:

When riding means van & not biking,
You notice the things you are liking,
Requires good skill.
To feed us and still,
Be present to need; it's quite striking.

Beautiful chicory flower we se on roadside early mornings.

So glad you are feeling better. Stomach flu maybe?? Take the rest you need–your body will tell you when to hop back on your bike!
Sending love and lots of new strength for the days ahead!
