Wearing my BeKo ... protecting my nose
When you note a "chafe" in your thinking,
When you think that life's joys are shrinking,
You will regain traction,
By taking some action.
That tactic can keep you from sinking.
Are you chafing at the bit?
I'm not riding at all this week.
Doctor who did small surgery on my nose
Directed, "Mild activity only, no biking.”
If he had ever ridden with me,
He would know,
My biking is THE most mild-cycling
You'll ever experience.
Following Doc's order
I'm strolling along bike path.
Noticing my internal chafing
As I amble along.
This isn't chafing to bike some distance,
(Though that would probably help),
It's a chafing to feel energized ...
Stimulated with possibility.
Springtime can be a convenient time of year
To feel restless.
There is hope in
Longer daylight, promise of greenery,
More smiles from people as they meet this new season.
I do know that I can make choices
About my own state-of-mind and activities.
I began learning that when I took my
First long bike ride, 27 years ago.
I learned then that my choices mattered.
Not to chafe and sit, hoping some
External force will spark my life.
I have options and opportunities
To figure out a "chafe-lifter.”
It might be as small as
Removing from the file cabinet
An inch high stack of out-of-date papers.
Taking an action will lift me
Out of the draggy bog.
I get to do that.
What's your tiny, or bigger, action item?
Onward into springtime.
Hugs,
Lin
