New Year 1949

Remember the fresh eyes of childhood?

Wednesday, January 6, 2021

Hello My Friend,

We've moved into a new year!
I always think it is amazing that
Midnight Dec 31 leads into
Newly named time slot.

When I was ten years old,
I dashed outside New Year's morning,
Filled with wonder that we had a NEW time.
I shouted up to the sky,

“This time is new!
It’s called 1949!”

None of adults were very interested.
Certainly not AWED by this calendar change.

That is up to each of us.

Each morning can look exactly
Same as preceding one.
Or --- we can "inch" toward "greater.”
"Greater" strength, flexibility, mileage, knowledge.

I like the thought of "inching toward Greater” …
Appreciation, connection, understanding, curiosity.

I'm joining the ten-year-old mind set.
Beginner-eyes as I make my way into this
New Year.

May your beginner-eyes
Light up with possibility.

Hugs to you,
Lin

P.S. What word describes your personal hope for 2021?
Leave me a comment, I’d love to know!
