My Birthday Day Thoughts

Wednesday, March 15th, 2023

My birthday time has been quite thought-filled.
With rambling-musing, not plot-filled.
Reviewing the years,
With joy and with tears.
Important for me, and not fraught-filled.

I had a birthday this week.
Eighty-four years — I’ve lived that long!
Amazing privilege.

It set me to thinking,
Of course — that’s what birthdays prompt;
Especially when one is
Absolutely Senior!

People and places,
Experiences lived fully,
Times when I’ve hidden away.
Massive variety of emotions —84 years covers lots.

One thing I’ve noticed is that
Thinking of specific things I’ve done,
Can be a powerful gift, without the
Flurry of really being there in-that-moment.

Not to say, I’d change much.
(Well — definitely some regrets and fears).

Remember last week I wrote about
Thinking I’d like to do those hard, epic bike-rides again?
Really, if possible, I’d forego the “hard”,
And this time round
Truly pay attention to
Where, what, and who were present,
In those bike-trips moments.

Starting my “new year”,
I hope I let days sink-in.
Soak up what I’ve done & seen.
Notice people connections that have expanded my life.
Cherish that I’ve lived another precious day.

This will be my birthday gift to me.

Hugs,
Lin

P.S.
I’ve been celebrated in fine ways ….
early-Birthday breakfast out at Grand,
special and lovely lunch at Ole Store.

Joint B-day time with Scott, Sequoia, Tigerlilly, and Kelli,
And dear Bob.
Visited Northfield Arts Guild gallery for annual “school age art” display.
Gallery walls & spaces filled with colorful, energetic, amazing art;
Fun, Fun!
Scott and I blew out candles — just one each. : -)

Leave a comment for me below!

Lin,

You look BEAUTIFUL at the celebration of your birthday, as viewed through the photos on your blog. Your smile makes me think of the happy side of reflection on age as you are with family. Let the positive thoughts turn into one’s countenance!

Belated Happy Birthday, dear Friend.
