Make The Most of Possible

Wednesday, February 1st, 2023

“She wasn’t just talking about biking,
She was talking about life.”

Yes!!!

It was one of THE most
Affirm-my-talk comments
I’ve overheard after speaking—

Two over-90-years guys,
Leaving the room on their walkers,
Enthused with the reminder that
We have today. Don’t wait.

I talk about, and write about
Bicycle-riding metaphors,
Because that’s where I’ve experienced them.

Biking up some long hill,
Noticing the next pedal-stroke,
Shifting to be able to manage the terrain.
I know they fit in my off-bike life too.

They fit anyone’s desire to use life’s days fully,
To stretch & feel there are possibilities,
Know doing and learning are still possible.

Our little bitty actions,
One-day-at-a-time efforts,
Keep us engaged and participating.

Grab your intention /dream /task /hope—
Make the most of “possible.”
We don’t have to be biking.

Don’t wait. Do it now.

We have today,
Let’s live it!

Hugs.
Lin

Some changes can seem quite constraining,
Can challenge our thoughts of maintaining
Some positive ways,
Of filling our days.
Our life-view then needs some retraining.

Dear Lin,

I read this post after finishing my “hill” of the morning–380 new words on a novel-in-progress today. Reading your words made me feel as though a friendly face was cheering me on, saying you can do it! That first draft is not impossible! Have fun while you are at it!

Thanks, coach!

Leslie
