Lake Michigan Ride—Day 16

Menominee, MI—Green Bay, WI: Zero biking miles

Monday, June 18, 2018

Arrive Green Bay via Mercedes van.
Zero biking miles
.

Morning logistics a bit chaotic,
No... just unusual.

Bulk of storm came through last night.
This morning heavy grey, overcast, not raining.
Four guys, Gerry, Stan, Eric, Gene,
Decided to ride.

Ken prepared eight remaining bikes,
For packing in back of Ford pickup vehicle.
Removed front wheels, pedals, all bags,
Sandwiched cardboard between bikes.
John was helper dude.

Ken & Nancy drove vehicle with bikes.
Women plus John,
All gear, food containers,
Rode in
CLASSY Mercedes,
Bucky’s shuttle.

Comfy seats around edge of back,
Bar in corner, quiet,
AC and music.

WaHoo !
What a way to travel out of rain.
Bucky wanted to show us Lambeau Field
Home of Green Bay Packers.
That stadium holds 81,414 fans ... all at once!
Gift store unbelievable collection of everything
Green Bay, even Barbie dolls.

Fun, unexpected way to get here.
Four riders have come in,
Varying degrees of wet,
'Cause rain did start again.
Found great bike store a ways from motel.
Like going to candy store.

Most unusual day.
Lots of friendly connecting,
Calm time for me.

Leaders made good arrangements,
Allowed individual choice.

Sending hugs to each of you,
Lin

A different day is always fun! Specially when riding a classy Mercedes! Enjoy! Hugs.

Glad to follow you. Our second day is pouring rain blowing in our faces by strong wind. We were walking the Famine Road. Finally guide said we could turn around . Better with wind & rain at our back. Then an Irish coffee and roaring fire to dry our jackets. To Aran Islands tomorrow. They say better weather is in store. . Naurine

That reminds me of riding to my 60th reunion: winds so strong, from so many directions… Bob helped me find routes to get in the miles with a tailwind so it could be doable! Hooray for flexibility! May better weather come your way!

I’m loving that you’re posting good updates. How is your knee behaving? Getting a shuttle the other day was a good call on K&N’s part!
It’s been really hot here but storms are coming in this afternoon to cool it down a few degrees. I’ve been out on my bike 3 of the last 4 days. It feels good! Love to all!
