Lin at Newport on the Leve
Today was a day of transition.
A move to the mental position,
Of focus that's clear,
On why we are here.
A fun ride that's fueled with ambition.
Newport, Kentucky. Ride Prep-Day.
Today held some prep tasks and some rest.
I sifted through contents of luggage
Without seeing anything unnecessary ,
So no discards or sent-home items.
The clarity and rhythm of this trip
Will show up with a few days riding.
My bike buddy Elizabeth and I, on three
Tour de Wyoming rides
Found the first couple of evenings,
Could be so confused, that we would
March-/-Stomp around our room, chanting:
"The rhythm will appear,
The rhythm will appear."
Eventually.. that rhythm, that pattern
Did appear, and all went more smoothly.
Part of this day has been to rest.
We have all come from some other focus,
That has taken energy.
Now is a time we can
Put the minutia prep
At top of the day's to-do list.
Then "just chill,”
If that's your choice.
This morning, Hope and I walked
In the neighborhood and
Along the River Walk
By the Ohio River, Kentucky side.
Pleasant.
My friend,
Please give yourself
"Time to chill.”
Hugs.
Lin
