Attention and Celebration

Wednesday, December 13, 2023

The season can hold what is jolly,
Or hold all that old melancholy.
Note what is made Bright
With love and with Light.
Care, woven midst baubles and holly.

Where is your attention this holiday season?

Ramped-up Holiday season is varied.
Challenge and melancholy,
Eagerness and fun.

Dependent on experiences,
Of course, each person has own
Take on this Time.

I'm finding "staying in the moment"
Helps keep me focused on
Bright, well-meaning, holiday efforts.

Noticing lovely decoration,
Special music, caring interaction,
Wonderful lights— Those specks of brilliant light,
Bring joy and zest to most corners,

Especially to my heart.

Noticing in these moments—
Light, joy, and what's genuinely present
Keeps melancholy at bay.

Noticing lets me join the celebration.

Hugs,

Lin
