Was It What You Expected?

Ten weeks from May 30 until start date.

Along a bike trail,
I saw sign on small cafe —
“Friday is Pie Day”.

Definitely got my attention.

If you know me even a little bit,
You know that finding pie,
Makes terrific reason for bike ride.

Friday morning, I started riding,
Wind at my back.Forty miles to pie!
Perfect for getting lots of miles,
And a favorite food item.

Arrived to be told,
Pie is all gone.

“No, no!  I pedaled 40 miles for your pie”.
(I wanted her to be impressed).
Not at all impressed, she said,
“Next time, order the day before”.

Bob & I had other food, — filling.
I got my longer ride.
We had a good outing.
Not the one we expected.

Being primed for special time:
After I got over
“No-Pie-Grump”,
Set stage for enjoying what showed up!

I’ll call ahead next time.

Hugs to you,
Lin
