Tallying miles toward destination.
Commitment's no longer enthusing.
Your mind's on the verge of refusing,
The workout you planned.
You now understand,
It's time to add something amusing.
What’s your recipe for “spicing up” stale?
Riding stationary bike,
Reading fairly engaging book.
Stationary miles pedaled noted on paper ...
I'm doing that.
I do see that my mileage is
Always either 7 or 10 miles.
Depends on time spent pedaling.
I'm okay with unchanging distance.
That’s my way of "doing” this.
Consistency? Check.
That system is in place.
Good.
Effective way of keeping
Muscles moving.
But ... right now?
Not enthusing.
Can be hard to stick with that
Commitment.
My new plan will be
Adding up miles from week of pedaling,
Pulling out a map,
Noting where that week's distance
Landed me ... so to speak.
This week's total distance:
Forty-seven miles.
Since I would have ridden on the bike trails,
That means I got to
Ice cream shop in
Elysian, MN.
My order there would be
Peanut Butter milkshake.
Fun!
This will be my way to
Give my indoor biking
A layer of "adventure.”
Spicing up the stale.
Where will next week's mileage
Take me?
If you need it,
May you find some crazy way to
Recharge a commitment—
To Recommit.
Hugs,
Lin

Lin, I need to be recharged. Your idea is wonderful. I hope I am recharged enough to try it. Winter and neuropathy create a huge challenge for me. Keep going, Lin. Hello to Bob.
I’m with you, Muriel. Hard time of year—physical challenges add weight to the issue. Cheering for you!
