What’s the real reason you’re doing it all?
Are you prone to letting worries
Depose anticipation, as I am?
Preparing for a ten-day trip!
Big loop MN—>AZ —>WY—>MN.
I’ve been very anxious about logistics,
Many bits to be sure are in place,
So we can easily move to “next” stop.
My “anxious-worried” mind has ignored
Real reason for ten-day marathon —
Soaking in the retreat offerings and
Having focused time with people we care about.
My outlook is shifting, Hooray!
Anxious —> Eager.
Focusing on the Gift,
Time-with-Loved-Ones,
Puts all different perspective
Having plan figured out and in place.
Would that I had let that sink in initially,
Much angst could be side-stepped.
Thinking of my “Happy,”
Rather than picturing being abandoned,
For days in some airport!
(Imagination can run pretty wild in
Stressed-time.)
We travel tomorrow.
(If you do get a report of an
old couple, wandering for hours
in some airport or motel, Pls
send rescue squad).
Remember Kingston Trio song about Charlie?
“He may ride forever ‘neath the streets of Boston.
He’s the man who never returned.”
Don’t want that to happen
To Bob and me. : -)
Hugs,
Lin
Limerick:
You’ve gathered the right information,
Put time into your calculation
Of where you must be
And who you can see.
The trip now becomes celebration.

Thank you for today’s Limerick.
What a perfect way to start the day
🙂 🙂
Lin… and Bob,
Enjoy a wonderful trip, in the same way that I enjoyed Lin’s thoughts and the photos she shared.
Muriel
Thank you, Muriel!
Lin, it won’t happen, but if you are stranded anywhere where in the continental US, I and my blue chariot will ride to the rescue!
Sorry this font is so small.
Can’t figure out how to change it.
SAFE AND HAPPY TRAVELS!
Love that image, and the sentiment behind the blue chariot! 🙂
Thank you for both!
Lin –
I know the feeling of planning so many things that I then worry about getting it all done. Back from Tanzania I headed south on a month long road trip to visit siblings. I’m in NC now, will drive to PA on. Sunday/monday. I’ll get home at the end of the month and have less than 2 weeks there before driving to Minnesota with Ken & Nancy.
I am focusing on enjoying my time here. And I’ll accomplish what I need to during my time at home.
See you in Rochester.
Hope
Thanks for the update, Hope! May you find yourself able to stay present with each wonderful moment!
Have a great trip! I got stranded at the Halifax airport last June after our bike trip. It took 3 days to get home and I did the last leg on a train. All I could think was I’m glad I wasn’t doing it with 4 kids and that I hadn’t checked any bags. 🤗 Same clothes for 3 days😵💫 Hugs!!
Yes–thank goodness for simplicity! 🙂
