Firing Up Joy

Wednesday, April 3, 2024

A great joy for me comes from biking.
Though it’s not to everyone’s liking.
Do what is your “Fun,”
You’ll feel like you “Won.”
Brings joy to your life that’s quite striking.

My riding is still inside. Stationary bike.
Waiting for more nearly-mild temps,
As I am sort of “chilly-weather-wimp.”

Restless to get to outside biking,
Which makes me happy.
Not wondering “why is that?”
It’s true.

I came across a quote by Peter Flax.
He catches what happens.

“A bicycle can transport you
To an entirely different mindset,
A place where you can embrace the unexpected
And live in the moment.”

We each have something which
Transports us to a different mindset.
It’s not just biking.
It’s those activities that capture our interest
To a point that we lose track of time—
Are “transported.”

Kayaks and water.
Rollerblades and trails.
Yarn and knitting needles.
Paints and a set of brushes.
Fresh spices and favorite recipes.
Blank paper and a good pen.
Lovely beads and glimmering idea.

These are things that
Pull us forward.
Another adventure / creation,
Expanding possibility and satisfaction.

Whatever possibility fires up Joy / Fun,
Let’s go!

Hugs,
Lin

That great-gran is such a little doll! And I love what you said about doing what you love transporting you to joy and a lost sense of time — it is so true!

Little doll, for sure! Thanks for resonating with being transported and losing sense of time… such is bliss!
