Rainy Day 8 WY to MN Ride

10 mile day: Started Platte S.D.
Elevation 1,601 ft.

Monday, September 9, 2019

Hello My Friends,

Not much riding today.
What I did do was "interstate.”

Three miles in South Dakota,
Two miles in Iowa,
Five miles in MN.

Rain as we crawled out of bed,
Continued most of day.
High wind from south.
Road shoulders taken over with "rumble bars.”

We headed to southwest corner of MN,
Lodged in Pipestone for this night.

I have 170 miles to ride to complete my five hundred.
Didn't think that big chunk of trip
Would be MN miles.
That's the way it is working.

Thinking today ...

"Perfect" not required to
Start your adventure,
Follow your dream,
Try new activity.

Need to have safe conditions.
If perfection required,
You'll never get started.

Those stoppers we all tell ourselves? ...
“I'll start after:
I retire,
I lose weight,
My last child is out of college,
My dog dies,
My sister can go with me.”

You know those stopper-phrases.
Give them up,
Or you'll never get started.

Don't wait!

Big Hugs to each of you,
Lin

Limerick:

I looked out the window complaining,
Not starting because it was raining.
With jacket for dry,
I'm wondering why,
I'm finding the raining restraining.
