Saugerties to Albany, NY: 0 miles biked
Day 12 Empire State Trail Ride
Friday, August 13, 2021
What transition are you navigating?
Another very high heat index day.
Decision not to ride.
Via company van,
We rode in AC vehicle to Albany.
Two trips required.
Early motel arrival meant,
Long wait for rooms.
U-Haul & van parked in tree shade,
LOTS of activity.
Later, cool spot in Dunkin' Donuts,
Made for okay wait time.
Well thought-out transfer,
Bags, six bikes, to co. van
Making round trip to Vermont.
Departures pre-planned.)
Two folks taking apart,
Their Friday bicycles.
Packing into designated suitcases,
Like a 3-D puzzle.
Owners, Vicki and Marlene,
Grateful for help—
Some experienced,
Some spectator.
Vicki and Marlene fly to CA tonight.
Six riders leaving from Vermont location.
Our group gets much smaller. **
In our rooms now,
Dinner together for continuing riders.
Tomorrow temps forecast much lower.
Back on bicycles.
Here’s to transitions,
They move us to the next thing!
Hugs.

Limerick:
Today has been filled with transitions.Though they were not due to conditions.
A group will depart,
The rest will restart,
Twelve riders on bikes, with ambitions!

Ride on dear Friend – Ride on! You are inspiring me further as I continue to nurse this broken foot — can’t wait to get back on my bike and roller blades 🙂 I am enjoying your wonderful photos, comments and poems. I love seeing that part of the country – you are showing me a whole new side of New York!
Hugs –
Jill
Must be incredibly frustrating, that broken foot–do take care of it. Yes, seeing these scenic parts of NY is wonderful! Thanks for “riding along” with me!
