Milwaukee

Pre-Trip Rest Day

(Milwaukee Public Library pictured above)

Did I say before that I wondered about day off
Before riding started?
It has been just right for me today.

Walked to breakfast with other riders.
Good folks, pleasant.
All of whom have ridden together many trips with
This company BAA, or their local bike clubs.

It is reminder to me,
About groups I belong to when
New person appears.
Particular challenge to be "open.”

Back in dorm
I felt swamped with Loneliness.
Not what I expected,
Sort of like the tide had pulled my emotional feet
Out from under me.

I reached out to my
Long-time bike buddy, Jan S. in CA.
Via phone I cried, she listened,
We laughed and remembered together.
Soothing balm for me.

With help from dorm desk person,
I got on correct city bus to
Lake front area.
Destination, Milwaukee Art Museum.

Wonderful beautiful area.
Plantings, sculpture,
Folks willing to take my picture in front of
Amazing building.

I saw "Wings" of building
Slowly lower and raise at noon.
External architecture is worth visit.
Bits of art collection I viewed ... stunning.

Walked distance back to dorm
Through historic downtown with
Buildings richly detailed.

Now replenished, I am ready for
Details of tomorrow's departure,
Actual riding,
Becoming part of this good bicycle group.

All is well.

Hugs to each and all,
Lin

Sounds like a great “day off” to be able to see the art works. YOU an art work yourself. Have a good rest and then get ready for some great cycling tomorrow!
Love,
Bev
