On jetty in Lake Erie. Very windy Lin, Ken...neither happy in cold wind.
Today is my last day with this Trip:
Tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept 22,
I fly back to Minneapolis to be
Picked up by Carla, who will drive me to Northfield.
It was a Van day for me.
Riding in the van with Ken to Cleveland.
Of course we arrived ahead of riders,
So took time to walk out on a levee to
View wind-churned Lake Eerie.
This ride day for my bicycling buddies,
Turned very wet.
Riders came in tired, wet,
Yet pleased to have ridden.

Clockwise from upper left: Waiting for morning rain to lighten up. John David, Margaret. Ready to ride from Stanford House. Cindy John, Margaret. Lunch stop at van. Cindy, Hope, Margaret, tall guy in back is David.
Our group is housed in Glidden House,
Near Case Western Reserve University.
Gorgeous hotel in a beautiful area.
Botanical gardens are close by.
I'm wishing I could stay here for a week.
Yes, I love the accommodations.
Still, I will be glad to get back home.
My plan is to get my
"Smacked up" knee and leg
Checked by a physician.
Get real info about any damage
And be reassured about its healing.

Clockwise from upper left: My lovely bedroom in Glidden House. Look at these impatiens! This rubber ducky in the bathroom ready to jump in the tub. Plantings at Glidden House.
As I was waiting for Ken to finish all the tasks
And get us on the drive for today,
I was thinking about leaving the trip
Without having been able to ride much.
About disappointment
In not riding and not being
Fully part of the group's "purpose.”
About feeling as though I was
Drifting to the edges
Of the people and
Crux of the journey.
If there was a "drift'
I realize that drift
Was my doing.
Thinking I had to be
Full-tilt
And present to be included.
Hmmm... that was all mine.
I hope I have learned that
Doing what I can,
Sticking around as it works,
Appreciating others,
Is a real part of any journey.
"Perfection is not required.”
That fits for off-bike-life.
I'm guessing I will realize more
On-bike, off-bike parallels
As I return to Northfield life.
I'll let you know tomorrow
About my return trip.
May you always know
Doing what you can is what you can do.
Hugs.
Lin

🙂 Thank you, Jill.
As usual, you have shown your readers how to make the best of whatever situation you are facing. Thanks for that! And welcome home!

Lin, Your phrase "I hope I have learned that
Doing what I can,
Sticking around as it works,
Appreciating others,
Is a real part of any journey.
"Perfection is not required.”" is right on.
Glad it hit the mark, Jim. 🙂
Dearest Lin,
You are perfect as you are, every breath.
