When trying is quite ineffective
I CAN take a route that’s corrective.
And ask for your “hand”
With what I have planned.
Results now are good, not defective.

Could you use some help?

You remember that
“Shift #2” is: Ask for Help.

I came up with the Five Shifts
After thinking back over
Many bike trips.
What had been recurrent.
What actions showed up to help me
Stay the course—keep me on my path.

Those show up repeatedly in every trip,
And — surprise, surprise,
They apply to my off-bike life too.

In preparation for our special trip
Late April to Seattle and then Sequim, WA,
Bob and I currently have been
Figuring out our Sequim lodging.

Endless (so it seems) computer searches
Looking at pictures,
Reading descriptions,
Squinting at the maps,
Ugh and ugh!

I know the internet is amazing,
With informative, direct, ever-ready
Answers.
Definitely not my skill-set.

Asking for help—
Very smart thing to do.

We each have our own different
“Best-at” talents and skills.
Wonderful when I can reach out
For someone’s help that fills
My personal “non-skill” spot.

I’m hoping I’ll remember,
To ask much sooner.
Whatever help I need.

It’s only a decision away!

Hugs,
Lin
