Getting the gift of a story told,
You listen close as the words unfold.
Trusted with sharing,
Known to be caring,
This time is surely a “piece-of-gold.”
Who has listened to you with their heart?
I was waiting near a baggage pickup aisle,
Thinking about all the stories walking by me.
Each person with their Story.
Airports, check-in lines, classrooms…
So many places where people
Passing or sitting nearby,
All hold their stories.
We do that, each of us …
Live our lives,
Filled with stories.
Big wins or nearly so,
Painful moments—or years,
Make us who we have become.
Each of us becomes seen
When we share stories.
I’ve had times this travel week
When “trusting-telling” and “focused-listening,”
Connects deeply.
Being asked about, listened to,
What life has brought,
Opens hearts profoundly and
“Precious-ly.”
Those are treasure times
In this travel.
May we all hear with our hearts.
Hugs,
Lin
