Celebrating Bob's 85th Birthday!

My dear friends,
Loss and joy can coexist.
This week is certainly proof of that.
My hard decision not to ride the East Coast ride this Fall
Lives beside delight of celebrating Bob's 85th birthday.
The celebratory day included
Eating special take-out food,
Bob receiving messages of love from near and far,
Getting outdoors for a 13 mile bike ride together..
What a joy—celebrating his ability to ride
After breaking his hip last November.
I wrote this limerick in his honor:
Bob's birthday today, and he's biking.
He's 85 years and that's striking.
We still get to ride,
Share time side by side.
Good balance and health, we are liking!

You were smart in making the decision to not do the East Coast trip this year. In Northern VA we are still shut down while the rest of the state is starting to open up. Going through Boston and NY would make me very nervous. Any time you and want to come ride Virginia , when this is all over, please come and stay with us!!!
