Wedding dance - Skye, Lin and Bride

Wednesday, September 20, 2023

We all came together to celebrate
Marriage: an official “starting-gate.”
We laughed and we cried,
We were dewy-eyed.
Our time to joyfully congregate.

What are your moments this week
Of Fun and Living Full-Out?

Focus for my week —-
Wedding of Earnie (grandson) and Kali.

As Seattle residents, the bride and groom chose
Destination wedding on Isle of Palms, South Carolina.
Shifting everybody’s “usual.”

Absolutely wonderful!

Bride and groom walked themselves
Over grass aisle to Officiant,
Who was Maggie, groom’s sister.

Her authentic, heartfelt words
Honored the couple,
Encapsulating event with love and dignity.

How wise she was!
A time when loving words & memories
Brought near-tears stopping the speaking,
Maggie prompted Everyone —
“Take a few Breaths together.”
Calming, centering,
Powerful group connector.

Beautiful ceremony
Bursting with true happiness.

There was delicious food.
A three-piece band,
Playing danceable music.

And we Danced!
Oh, how we danced!

On the portable dance floor
Under too-hot sun, we danced!

Non-choreographed
Moving to music,
In absolute delight
Celebrating this marriage,
And sharing the Joy.

Dancing “full-out,”
Living full-out in those moments
Brought me joy …

A reminder to me that putting myself and my heart
Into what’s there,
Is a path to Fun & Living
With capital L
.

Fabulous Fun,
As well as time of a solemn ritual.
Connection for all.
Such a gift.

How fortunate Bob and I are.
Grandparents able to attend
Grandchildren’s weddings.
Happy and filled with gratitude,
I know I am lucky.

Hugs.

  1. Dear Lin,

These pictures and your text make the even come alive. Thank you!

(Makes me think of the old saying, “Dance like nobody’s watching.”)

With love to you, Bob, and your beautiful family,

    Leslie

  2. Lin –
Thanks for sharing the joy of this fabulous event. You look lovely (and youthful) in red.
    Fondly –
    Hope
