Beautiful Birthday

Fifteen miles of biking.

This Birthday Day is a Treasure!

Sunrise filling sky with extravagant coral brilliance and hope.
Coral colored hibiscus on breakfast table,
Cards and texts filled with loving wishes,

Beach walk viewing flotilla of brown pelicans,
And shells, simple and varied,
Some with that coral color, one of my favorites,
Showing up especially today.

Lunch: a bit fancier place ... Party, you know.
Food fit for the Party! Sea foods with Yum seasonings.

Best thing about today
Is feeling enveloped in celebrative wishes and caring.
This outpouring of "voices,” electronic & some audible,
Being held by legions of well wishers.
​A dear soul even write me personalized song lyrics!
Quite humbling,
Absolutely wonderful.

I'd like to learn how to keep this
Soft, kind space of affirmation and celebration.
To be able to "dive in" when things feel rough,
Then resurface covered and soaked in these good wishes.

I'll remember that I can do just that!
