Haircut and conversation with Tina boost spirits
Is “reentry” hard for you?
Words I shared with a friend recently
When asked how I am doing:
"Thanks.
My bike-fall bashes are healing.
My challenge NOW is to get my outlook
To be in the 'Enthused Mode'.”
Historically, I have always found
Reentry from special bike adventure time
To be hard.
Returning from a multi-day bike trip
With the daily simplicity of
Unquestioned garb (variations only for weather),
Having the day's prescribed route.
The task of pedaling to get to that
Night's destination,
Simple and obvious.
The basic pattern of each day
Known, expected, and completed.
Unchanging, yet always different,
Within that pattern.
For me, it's the ultimate demonstration that
One-day-at-a-time will get me "there.”
It's simple.
Right now in my more varied life,
I'm not yet able to translate the
Five Shifts from my bicycle time
To my off-bike-life.
I know the application is right there.
I haven't made it yet.
Stay tuned, it will happen.
1. Commit
2. Ask for help
3. Connect with others
4. Find humor in the hard stuff
5. Recommit, and recommit as often as it takes.
May you have moments of delight in your days.
Hugs,
Lin

Thank you so much, Deanna! Hugs back. 🙂
Great timing, as I’m just starting reentry. I don’t want to empty bags, go shopping, etc. Maybe I’ll get a haircut!
I definitely recommend it, Margaret! It’s the little things… 🙂
