Decisions made only by viewing,
Through windows, may be rather skewing.
Step out in the air.
And what you find there,
Will surely inform what you’re doing.
Guess what?
In my mind right now is what I've known ...
And rediscovered last Friday.
You can't tell what life is by looking out the window.
Bright sunny day, perfect for a late-season outside ride.
I layered my bike clothing with info gathered
By looking through the window.
Totally disregarding tools
I have and know from doing them.
No temp checks ...
Just viewing sunshine and non-flapping flags.
I nearly froze!
It was not what I expected from window viewing.
I was safe, but COLD.
Not fun.
If it's rain, I'm ready. Cold? finger gloves and gaitor.
Looking out, seeing what looked like soaking rain.
Desperately needing
Fresh air and hard pedaling to
Clear mental claustrophobia,
I went outside anyway to ride.
What I had seen through the window,
Translating it as heavy rain, with
Riding conditions to be avoided,
Turned out to be refreshingly
Manageable mist!

Life can be fuller.
