What richness does connecting give you?
My shift “Connect with others”
Continues to add richness to my life.
This past weekend a perfect example.
Exhilaration of connecting with loved ones,
Hugs after months of absence,
News exchanged,
Plans shared,
Delight at our real-life, physical presence—
Such a gift.
I’ve had that on two recent weekends.
Hearing about:
School starting,
New jobs upcoming,
“What’s next” on horizons—
Flurry of important words.
Even some singing together.
Questions of:
Can you remember what we used to sing in the car?
What was that song about some moon and a sailboat?
Tuneful harmony or
Croaking along,
Our music efforts together,
Sometimes nearly angelic,
Sometimes downright laughable—
Filled my heart.
Hours so wonderful,
I wanted them to last for a long, long time.
Moments were
Rich and fleeting.
Connections now
Usually, short.
Reminder to me—
Cherish, notice, saturate moments
With Gratitude.
This is my rich, juicy, wonderful Life.
Lucky me.
Hugs,
Lin
Limerick:
Time that we share is so fleeting,
Time for our news and great eating.
Our voices in song,
With right notes or wrong,
A tuneful addition to meeting.

Such great family pics, Lyn and Bob! One of my fondest memories as a child is riding in the car with my dad leading us in singing the additive song “There Was A Hole”. Do you know it? Thanks for sparking those memories!
Great memory, Dan! 🙂
Another great post Lin – thank you. I too remember riding home from visits to grandparent’s watching the moon follow us home and singing. I’ve Been Working on a Railroad was a favorite.
Hope
Hope, I love that song as well! Sang it with my children and grandchildren.
