Pivots

TX bike and end of road ... Fav ride. Glad have done it.

Considered with limited vision,
Two outlooks produce a collision—
Of what will be best.
Now you know the rest—
Change in the medical decision.

How do you cushion your pivots?

Returning to MN,
Curtailing our time in TX,
Is showing up to be
Right decision.

Flight home from TX. Sunset and tip of airplane wing.

Bob's interaction with his MN Doctor,
Subsequent medical decision to
Cancel further tests...
Encourages optimism, lightens spirits.

Report of the test done in TX arrived.
Rereading upper GI pictures
Showed bleed site.

Knowing what is going on,
Allows different protocol.
Bleed has stopped.
Bob is quite anemic.
He will  be fortified with iron tabs,
And have blood hemoglobin monitored frequently.
All good news.

Bob's interaction with caring friends and family,
Frequent supportive electronic messages
Are big part of the morale boost.

Time and attention with friends and family. Shared laughter, shared connection.

We did disagree on Bob's discharging himself
From TX hospital.
His insistence put us in right spot.

It is the right spot for me too.
One-on-one visits with
Loving friends have buoyed me up.
Being listened to with patience and
Genuine attention is such a gift.

You've read it here before ...

Being given
Time and Attention
With genuine caring is
THE biggest present I can receive.

May the time and attention you give
Come back to you at just the right time.

Hugs,
Lin

  1. Lin, thank you for filling us in on your and Bob’s change of plans. Even though we live in the same building, we rarely cross paths. Know that I have been thinking of you both and am relieved that you’re back and seeing Bob’s MD.

  2. Lin,

I am deeply touched by the content of your account…the photo of the in-air sunset, where in your thoughts that I first saw it, gave me both hope and peace… for Bob and you… for the troubles that daily enter our lives (including the the nation's and world's trauma) in unexpected ways.

It is encouraging that Bob is receiving the medical care that he trusts, and with which you also can be comfortable. Because of Randy and my move from where we lived for 33 years, I find new medical sites and channels of care difficult to understand and navigate these days. Being 'home' for medical care certainly can lower anxiety about personal health.

This is a long response that is somewhat public. I hope that is okay. The photos of the smiles and laughter say to me that you are finding the support you need at this time. I support to some degree from afar.I hope my words and Randy/my Ecards provide care.

    Hugs,
    Muriel

  3. Wow. You two have had quite a journey. Please let me know how I can help. You both are so special and loved.

  4. My best wishes for healing and boosted
    iron are with Bob!
May patience and love buoy you both.

    Love, Patsy
