You sit on your bike on your bottom
Viewing surroundings of autumn.
Some changes in sight,
With colors, though slight.
You’re happy your viewing has caught ‘em!

How are you experiencing the change of seasons?

Changing seasons do bring different
Thoughts while on my bike seat.

For me, this change to shorter daylight
And more bike gear layers
Often becomes “softened” by Autumn’s
Blazing colors.

I live in the Midwest where
All those “color-chart” autumn hues
Are usually blazing on trees and on bike trails.
Pretty spectacular.

This year, muted colors
Are what I see.
Less drama in scene change.
Still the calendar moves forward.

My life can be like that:
Muted experiences,
Quiet times with almost invisible motion.

Certainly true of my bike-life.
Quiet miles ridden to clear the mind,
And maintain stamina,
Without reportable destinations.

Still the one-pedal-stroke-at-a-time
Moves me forward, keeps me healthy.
Prepares me for whatever
Colorful adventure may show up.

May your “muted-color” days bring smiles.

Hugs,
Lin

  1. Lin –
I love your rhyming autumn with bottom.
I’m still biking too, enjoying both the subtle and brilliant colors.
    Hope
