I look out and see that it's snowing.
And I feel my grouchiness growing.
Can I think of sun,
And know when snow's done,
That sunshine gets happy thoughts flowing.
Does outer weather affect your inner weather?
I just looked out and see winter weather
At its most blustery.
Thick snow, wind, cold.
My spirits drop.
Stomping down the long hallway,
Dropped off recycling and checked for mail.
Accomplishing something despite my
Grouchiness.
This was a response way beyond
Rational.
Warm, safe.
Really.
All is well for me.
Back in our condo, radio is playing
"Keep On the Sunny Side"
Sung by women's group "The Whites,”
In movie, "Brother Where Art Thou.”
In many regards...
Perfect message about sunny side.
Sunshine, sunny outlook, sunny optimism.
Perfect.
I sang along,
Bounced, danced around a bit,
Felt much better.
Moving the grumpy ol' bod,
Singing some harmony
Soaking in the lyrics...
Just right to improve
Outlook.
This is just this day,
Just this storm.
Different is around the corner.
That's physically true for Bob and me.
We fly to TX on Jan 24th
To be snowbirds for a month.
I'll let you know how it is
With no ice underfoot.
May you hear "turn-around" music
And dance with it.
Making your inner sun shine.
Hugs,
Lin
