How do you keep your path positive?

For me, beauty is an antidote to feeling low or negative. Our gorgeous "Post Rain Light" view from our balcony.

Recently I've given myself "down time.”
Feeling physically "under-the-weather,”
I'm now on the upswing of regaining stamina.

I've had a lot of time to think.

It has prompted my thinking about
Changes that come for all of us.
Situations we never expected,
Really don't want.

True at any age,
It's particularly noticeable with aging.

From any life-point perspective,
How do we put our focus on
What IS possible?

Is it a portion of our dream?
Or do we sharpen attention on
What's present and fulfilling?

Four of my 5 shifts coming into play this week: Top Row, L to R: Shift #1: Make a Commitment. This week, I can commit to dental care. (Small commitments count.) Shift #2: Ask for Help. Boy, did I, when my hot water heater started leaking. Bottom Row, L to R: Shift #4: Find Humor in the Hard Stuff. Watching The Muppets provided fun, laughter, and lift. Shift #5: Recommit: Sustaining my commitment to dental care, made a follow-up appointment. Where are you using these shifts?

Right now, getting on my
Metaphorical bike to ride
Is about noticing short possible paths,
And nodding with appreciation.

I wonder what my words would be
If I were required to constantly live at
Low stamina level.

Would I "nod in appreciation?”
I hope so.

What about you? Whatever your age—
What would keep your
Path positive?

Hugs,
Lin

Limerick:

When some change has shifted your options
And you need to take on adoptions,
Just what can you find,
To help change your mind,
And think of some paths as cool "swaptions?”

Advice found in my elevator for keeping one's path positive. Good idea!

  1. Now a favorite thought of mine… you words:

When some change has shifted your options
And you need to take on adoptions,
    Just what can you find,
    To help change your mind,
And think of some paths as cool “swaptions?”
