Six weeks from June 20 until Empire State Bike Tour.
​Disappointment was my take—
Not getting to meet on Root River Trail,
For bike ride with son & young boys,
Plus, picnic in a park.
Seemed like loss.
While it’s good to have a plan,
It’s very good to flex
To what fits situation.
Weather dictated
Indoor meal (a gourmet spread),
Admiring small bicycles parked in garage,
Proudly handled & described by
Young owners.
Funny game of drawing figures,
As we giggled at our creations.
Sitting dry & happy at their home.
Excellent time!
Different than anticipated.
Together and connecting.
Limerick:
Thinking my day has a master-plan;
Needs change with news from the weatherman.
It is not about
My doing without.
What shows up can be a “better than”.
