Continue readingMy unridden bike is all dusty.
I’m glad that it’s dusty, not rusty.
And once that I clean,
This much loved machine,
I’ll ride on this bike that’s so trusty.
When I find my body feels “punky,”
It spreads, and my mind can get funky.
I move very slow.
My thoughts can get low.
Remind me … I’ll get back to spunky!
Those times when I’m needing bike riding,
To view what I see while trail-gliding,
I feel with my heart.
‘Tis a better start—
For time that is real help-providing.

Continue readingWhen you come upon your next Birthday,
Please think upon it as a “Gateway.”
Just what will there be—
To live and to see?
To dig in and know, or just survey?
The task you envision when you start,
Clear closet, containers, and shelf of art.
You find that your plans,
To work with your hands,
Shift over to working with your heart.
The Life Celebration we’re sharing,
Is filled with the grief we are bearing.
Yet, that’s only part,
That fills up each heart.
It shows us how much we are caring.
Considering choice and admitting,
Priority isn’t befitting.
Some choice that you make,
Could be a mistake.
It does not require recommitting.
When your life is battered and windblown,
Your path feels too rocky and unknown.
May some shift appear,
Some help that is clear,
Supporting you; being your keystone.
You can’t tell a gift by its wrapping.
May quietly come without flapping.
It could come to be,
A sight that you see.
Some new view that sets your hands clapping.
