Northern MN: Getting There

Serendipity and Kindness

Friday, June 16, 2017

Above: Ready to leave Northfield—Friday 8:45am

Bob said this day is about
Car miles and food.

My "take" is that is it about
Serendipity and kindness.

Arrived Walker motel late afternoon,
Tired, slightly dispirited.

Unloading, found that Bob had forgotten his
HELMET.
ARGH!

Woman at desk wrote down name of bike shop
In Walker—green house with purple door,
Shed around back.

Tiny space displaying only one of many items.
One helmet sized for Bob.
Fine fit.

Bike mechanic as creative as (my son) Rob—
Big heart,
Caring and listening.

How lucky to find just right person,
Just right time.

We are rearranging,
Repacking for tomorrow start-of-ride.

Safely equipped again.
Serendipity and kindness.

Hugs to all,
Lin

Things really do have a way of working out and your first day certainly proved that!
Good thing you are doing your ride THERE, it is hotter than H-E-double toothpicks! Put your story in the Newsletter, no responses yet, but then this is a busy weekend.
Happy Father’s Day/Mother’s Day, too!
Love you guys,
Bev

I don’t envy you the “hotter than H-E-double toothpicks!” You can see from our pictures that weather was cool—perfect for biking! Thank you for spreading the word to folks who might be interested to read about my bike trips. You’re a dear, Bev!
